The Core Questions for the 2026 Election: Youth, Equality, and Peace

As Sweden approaches the pivotal 2026 elections, the Multireligionvalsystem (MRES) campaign is built on a foundation of democratic reform, religious equality, and global conflict resolution. Our proposed church election reform is not just a local issue; it is a model for solving intractable global conflicts.

The Foundation of the Reform

The MRES conflict resolution model is based on two main arguments addressing the 78-year-long Israel-Palestine conflict and the incomplete separation of state and church. To move forward, we must address the root causes of religiously framed political tension.

The Three Unanswered Questions

To understand the necessity of this reform, we ask voters, politicians, and faith leaders to consider the following three questions:

Youth Democratic Rights: Do Protestant young people who have reached the age of 16—and who have the right to vote in church elections—want to be equal to other 16-year-olds belonging to other faiths such as Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus?
Gender Equality in Leadership: Do the Protestant female archbishops in the Nordic countries want to help so that other women belonging to different faiths also become equal, giving them the opportunity to become female leaders in the same way as men?
Global Peace and Cooperation: Do all religions want to cooperate democratically so that the 78-year-old conflict that they have inherited is not handed over to the next generation to be resolved?

The Path Forward

If the answer to these questions is yes, then the path forward is clear. We must transition from traditional church elections to a Multi-Religion Election System (MRES). By democratizing faith communities internally, we remove the religious extremism that fuels global conflicts and create a framework for lasting peace.
